Bagging Operator Job on 1st Shift in Manassas VA

Are you looking for a stable day shift job with a clear routine. We have an opening for a Bagging Operator in Manassas Virginia. This is a full time temporary position that is scheduled to last for six months. You will work from Monday to Friday. Your hours will be from 6 in the morning until 2:30 in the afternoon. The pay for this job is 19 dollars per hour.

You do not need any special college degree for this job. You must have a high school diploma or a GED. The most important skills you need are basic math skills and the ability to follow instructions. You must be able to add subtract multiply and divide using whole numbers and decimals. You will need to solve small problems as they happen during your shift. You will need to understand instructions given to you in writing or spoken out loud.

This is a hands on job in a production environment. You will be working with food products specifically chews and similar items. Your main goal is to make sure the product is packed correctly and that your work area is always clean and organized.

Your specific duties will be divided into two main areas.

Your first set of duties involves operating the bagging machine. You will be responsible for dumping boxes of product into a large hopper machine. You will then throw away the plastic liners from the boxes. You will save the empty boxes and place them on a pallet so they can be used again. You must watch the machine carefully to make sure no unwrapped chews go through.

You must keep your workspace very clean. There should be no loose chews or wrappers on the floor or equipment. Every time the production line changes to a different product you will clean and sanitize your entire area following the instructions on the batch record.

Your second set of duties involves hand packing the boxes. You will check that the boxes and labels are correct for the product. You will then pack the boxes by hand with the exact number of chews listed on the instructions. You are the final quality check. You must make sure that no damaged or defective bags are put into the boxes. Only perfect products can be sent to the customer.

After you pack a box you will move it to the tape machine so it can be sent to the palletizer. You must keep your packing area neat and organized while you work. You also need to make sure that extra bags of product do not pile up on the floor. Every time you switch to packing a new product you will clean and sanitize your station thoroughly.
