Your Mission as a Plant Operator

Your primary goal is to ensure the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of our Renewable Natural Gas facility. You will be responsible for maximizing production and minimizing downtime, all while upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance. You will report directly to a Lead Plant Operator and play a key role in the success of our site.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance

Operate, adjust and repair equipment to maximize plant production.
Perform daily checks on all equipment including flow meters, pressure gauges and compressors to identify and correct issues before they cause failures.
Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements and repairing valves and blowers.
Participate in scheduled preventative maintenance outages and equipment overhauls.

Record Keeping & Inventory

Maintain detailed daily records of production data, equipment service schedules and any outages.
Manage plant inventory and ensure all necessary parts and supplies are well-stocked and organized.

Safety & Site Management

Maintain a clean, safe and professional work environment, free of slip hazards and mechanical dangers.
Immediately clean up any spills and ensure all site lighting is functional.
Verify that all visitors and contractors follow safe work practices on site.
Respond promptly to call-outs and troubleshoot issues, escalating to management when necessary.

Your Schedule

This is a full-time position scheduled for 40-50 hours per week.
Schedule formats may vary (e.g., five 8-hour days, four 10-hour days or 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule).
You must be available to work nights, weekends and participate in a rotating on-call schedule that requires 24/7 availability during your on-call week.

What You Need to Qualify

Required Skills & Experience:

High School Diploma or GED.
Strong mechanical skills and general troubleshooting abilities.
Experience with pumps, blowers or air compressors.
Ability to read and write well and maintain accurate records.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Must be self-motivated and able to work with little direct supervision.
A valid driver’s license without restrictions.

Preferred Skills:

Basic electrical knowledge.
Experience with gas reciprocating or screw compressors.
Working knowledge of pressure, vacuum and flow systems.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active role requiring moderate lifting (10-50 lbs).
You must be able to walk on irregular surfaces and perform occasional stooping, kneeling, climbing and crouching.
You will use hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment.
